2nd Annual BIM | 7th-8th July 2021 | Virtual Conference

The APAC region will be the highest growing market for building information modelling (BIM) in the coming years. The market is expected to grow at the fastest rate due to the use of BIM for large-scale infrastructure and building projects. Government initiatives are expected to act as a major factor driving the adoption of BIM as seen in Japan, China, and South Korea where BIM’s usage has already been made mandatory, especially for public buildings, along with green certification-related documents.

For Singapore, BIM will play an increasingly major role in an overarching plan to take the AEC industry to the next level—as outlined in the BCA’s Construction Industry Transformation Map—through digital construction, environmental sustainability and increased productivity. BIM’s usage within Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) optimizes the use of digital technologies throughout the 4 stages of the built environment lifecycle – Design, Fabrication, Construction and Asset Delivery & Management. This is not digitalisation merely for the sake of doing it. As the AEC industry builds bigger and take on projects of greater complexity within shorter time frames, building efficiently and strengthening collaboration across the entire value chain will be mission critical.
