2nd Annual Chief Compliance Officer | 26th - 27th May 2027 | Singapore

OVERVIEW

The compliance function has undergone one of the most profound transformations in modern corporate governance. Once regarded as a back-office control function, compliance now sits at the centre of enterprise strategy, with Chief Compliance Officers expected to navigate financial crime, geopolitical uncertainty, AI-driven risk, and an increasingly fragmented regulatory landscape. As regulators raise expectations and enforcement actions intensify, compliance is no longer measured by the existence of policies, but by the effectiveness of their execution.

Recent enforcement cases illustrate this shift. In July 2025, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) concluded a two-year investigation into the country’s largest money laundering case, imposing SGD 27.45 million in penalties on nine financial institutions while issuing prohibition orders against senior executives who failed in their oversight duties. Similar actions across jurisdictions reinforce a common lesson: most organisations sanctioned by regulators already had AML/CFT frameworks in place. The failures occurred not in policy design, but in implementation, governance, and accountability.

This growing implementation gap is driving unprecedented investment in compliance technology. The global RegTech market is projected to reach USD 112.1 billion by 2033, as organisations seek to replace manual reviews with continuous, technology-enabled monitoring. Yet adoption remains uneven, only 22% of financial institutions report meaningful AI deployment within compliance functions, while nearly one-third have yet to implement AI or machine learning capabilities. As regulatory demands continue to increase while budgets and headcount remain constrained, compliance leaders are being challenged to do more with less.

Join us at the 2nd Annual Chief Compliance Officer conference as we bring together senior compliance executives to examine the realities shaping the profession today. Through practical case studies and peer-led discussions, we will explore how organisations can close the gap between policy and execution, govern AI and RegTech responsibly, and build compliance functions capable of anticipating and withstanding the next wave of regulatory disruption rather than simply reacting to it.
