An event sales executive role is fast paced and dynamic, a real passion for closing deals and securing sales is needed. Event sales executives can earn in excess of RM 60,000 year 1 with scope to move into sponsorship sales in year 2 with significant international travel. A rare opportunity to join Malaysia leading conference business and work across their flagship events. As a Conference Sales Executive you will generate leads, communicate with conference delegates, and close their participation on oil and gas forums, conferences and seminars. You are expected to reach a minimum target of annual sales working in a collaborative sales environment.

At Trueventus we create high-level conferences for a wide range of industries and vocations which focus on topical economic, policy and commercial issues. They are attended by politicians, senior business leaders and leading academics, who participate as both speakers and delegates.

The Conference Producer will report to the Head of Production in our KL office and work with other members of the project team. Your key tasks will be to conduct conference topic research, write marketing copy and invite speakers. You will receive extensive one-on-one training and be able to quickly take control of your events under the supervision of the Head of Production. If you are successful in the role, career progression will be rapid. You will form personal connections with the best and brightest minds in the world of commerce, business, and economics and have regular contact with senior business leaders.

This is a fast-paced and intellectually stimulating career. You will be constantly challenged and the project-by-project nature of the business means that you will never get frustrated with monotony. Essential skills and experience required:

  1. (60%) Research original up-to-date trending business topics from breaking, scientific research and news-worthy content: articles, blogs, web pages, press releases, event descriptions and other business pieces. The core duty is to translate technical material from various professional and industrial sectors into effective, engaging marketing copy for a wide range of audience; the main target being C-Level professionals and specialists.
  2. (20%) Focus on the viability of the business topic, the research writer develops ideas, plans outlines, conducts research (online and offline), incorporate digital and marketing best practices and strategizes best approaches for direct results to target markets.
  3. (5%) Speak with professionals and specialists to gain further in-depth perspectives and current market trends to accurately target content.
  4. (5%) Edit, proofread and standardize content on all platforms throughout the marketing campaigns.

Your Ideal Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication, PR, Marketing and Business Development are preferred. English is necessary.
  • 1+ years of research or writing experience established in varied forms of styles, together with working in a challenging and fast-paced working environment. Experience may be listed in long-form, in-depth, features, research, short-form and deadline-driven.
  • Ability to receive criticism, corrections, change of research angles and rework drafts in short turnovers.
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to work with multiple teams with confidence.
  • Superior research skills, especially in translating complex information.
